People are wasteful, they waste all the food, people are hateful and people are rude. But god, I love some people sometimes, because people are very very special. And people are impatient, they don’t know how to wait. And people are selfish, people are prone to hate. But God, I love some people sometimes, because people are the greatest thing to happen. And people are people, regardless of skin. And people are people, regardless of creed. People are people regardless of gender, people are people, regardless of anything. And people are my religion, because I believe in them. People are my enemies and people are my friends. I have faith in my fellow man and I only hope that he has faith in me.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

I am not what happened to me. I am what I chose to be.

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery. celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. This is the day your life really begins.
